I attended the British Nigeria Law
Forum (BNLF) Gala yesterday evening at the Waldorf Hilton in London and it was simply
awesome. It was an evening of beautiful
music, great food, inspiring presentations, exquisite art and fabulous people.
(L - R) Myself, Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA), Prof. Oba Nsugbe QC, SAN |
The special guest for the evening
was renowned Nigerian Artist Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) who took us through some
of his incredible paintings and photo art. Yinka is internationally celebrated
and has his work hanging on the walls of the best museums in the world.
It was simply incredible to hear the man himself speak about his childhood, inspiration and dreams. He has such a great personality and I was most honoured to meet and take a photo with him.

David Frame, the man behind
several brilliant Nigerian architectural designs such as the National Mosque in
Abuja and the National Assembly complex also introduced everyone to Eko
Atlantic, the masterpiece situated in Lagos which will be the new gateway to
Africa upon completion is breath taking.
April |
One of the highlights of the
evening was watching April, a Nigerian opera singer perform, I was amazed at
the sound of her beautiful voice, watching her sparked within me a love for the
opera, hope I get the opportunity to watch her perform again.
BNLF also launched the maiden
edition of its Newsletter and I was honoured to contribute News articles to the
magazine which is a great publication. All
in all, I had a great time and I am sure so did everyone who attended. Kudos to everyone who was involved in the organisation especially the BNLF Chair, Babatunde Akinyanju, Professor Oba Nsugbe QC SAN and the rest of the team.
