MEMOIRS OF A CHIBOK GIRL

Credits - sunnewsonline.com

I remember that night
The day we began our plight
We woke up to sounds of gun fight
The terrorists came with all their might

Now we are slaves
Living in mountain enclaves
Some of our friends buried in shallow graves
Those who we considered brave

I wonder about my father
I pray for my mother
Wish I could tell them not to bother
My body, mind and will I had to surrender

I was once a pretty girl
A loving, passionate and intelligent girl
Now I am a hurt, bruised and sad girl
Who will remember me, a simple Chibok girl
