BATTLE FOR THE THRONE

Credits - panafricanvisions.com

It’s a big race to the Presidential Throne
Politicians fighting, hungry dogs to a bone
This is definitely the game of thrones
And we are all standing on icy cones

In 6 weeks elections will hold
Go out and vote, be bold
Your mandate is just like gold
Treasure it, lest it be sold

Let’s get a leader we all elect
Not one the cabal selects
One who corruption won’t make fidget
Who wouldn’t fill us with regret

Come May 29, we expect a rebirth
We are blessed on God’s green earth
Black gold & Minerals aplenty to unearth
And human capital we have no dearth

WILD MEMORIES

Credits - Google
Your touch consumes me like a fire
I am as charged as a live-wire
You held my hands saying “let’s retire”
Then you took off your attire

My body, covered in tiny bumps
My head exploding cos of the romps
My bulge, now a gigantic lump
All I want to do is stomp

Looking into your eyes as you ride
Feeling your bosom makes me feel giddy inside
As we both take passionate strides
By your rhythm, I shall abide

Inside you I explode
My cock may have found its abode
You dropped signals I try to decode
It said, one more time baby let’s go.

I Know a Prison

What is a prison?
A room you can't leave without reason?
An enclave that traps you no matter the season‎?
Where escape is possible only while sleeping?‎

There is a prison?
Not where you find those guilty of treason‎.
Or those who spilled blood as red as crimson‎
But those who believed without reason.‎

‎‎
I know a prison
Where handcuffs as small as rings
Hold you till the fat lady sings
A life without bbm pings.

Are you in prison‎
Wondering 'hw did I get in?'‎
Just embrace the figurine‎
Who wears the ‎other half of your ring.

Words Nigeria needs: Empathy and Humane (30 Days, 30 Voices)

Editor's note: Article was first published on 1st February,2015 by Ynaija.com

Last night while sitting with my friends in a pub in Victoria Island, Lagos waiting for the usual 3rdmainland traffic to subside, a Briton sitting a few feet from me launched into a diatribe attacking Nigerian politicians and the way they have channeled the course and faith of the Nation. After realizing that I was quietly paying attention to his outburst, he raised his voice a notch and continued to yab the political class, “all Nigerian politicians are the same” he said, irrespective of their parties, Nigeria is f***** and you are all doing nothing about it he continued to the affirming nod of his female companion.

On my seat, I had begun a journey to that place in my mind reserved for gnawing over the many problems and frustrations constantly plaguing my Nation and its many citizens. Running through my mind were the myriad of solutions proposed by many scholars, lawyers, policy makers and commoners but a simple solution stuck in my mind and it came from my observations while studying for a Masters degree and living in London.
